8 Lug Front Disc

I have a '56 F100 that had a 3/4 ton rear installed when I was a kid and the front was changed over shortly after. It is nice having a short bed 3/4 ton since it isn't common (and actually didn't exist as far as I know), but I want disc brakes up front so stopping is easier. I've seen the Volare conversions, and am wondering if they can hold a 3/4 ton spindle or if not how can I put 8 lug disc brakes on a 56 straight axle.
Thanks, Dennis

The 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton spindles are the same. So you can switch to the F250 hubs to get 8 lug.

I installed 8 bolt discs in my 51-f3. I dont know if the spindles are the same for a 56.
Search for the post " F-3 Front Discs, Got Em Together " It tells how i did it, and there are pics in my gallery showing the conversion in different stages.

Hope this helps.
