Aren't they a 2006 thing? I just got a 2005 XLT. I wouldn't consider buying a hybrid. Technologie is to new, and I think unproven. That's jsut my $0.02.
I was considering the hybrid until I ran into this transmission issue
that cost me $3500.
Now I am looking at other options and unfortunately not made in
the USA either.
hybirid doesnt always save you money. The vehicle itself cost more because it has batteries. It is NiMH battery pack. It won't last forever. After being recharged x number of times, it won't hold charges. Nobody knows how much it will cost in the future if you need to get the batteries replaced. And if Ford is greedy, they will design it so that you can not replace it yourself. If they use lithium ion battery, thats another story.
I can't imagine how the sound level inside would be like. Sometimes you will hear engine noise, and sometimes it will be virtually quiet.
