i was watching the olymics and out of nowhere was this chevy comercial, showing a silverado 1500 touting 20 inch wheels, 345hp, More torqe than Dodge Hemi...... Anyone else seen this comercial? if so it seems that both bowtie and dog have a bit more hp/torqe than our 5.4--for now. There was a thread about a new engine ford was coming out with for the f150 and I wonder f thats still set for production, especialy now that dog is coming out with some 400+hp hemi?
I did not see the commercial, but I did check the chevy website and there is indeed a 345-hp Vortec H.O. 6000 V8 option for the silverado. Looks like were gonna be seeing even more power wars between the Big 3.
Oh yes its the Silverado VHO 1500 pickup truck new and limitablity to only a few states but be soon available to all in 2005, seems Chevy is going after the Hemi boys since dodge gots an qcab hemi sport to offer to compete against chevy, ford gots the harley crew, all great trucks
thats right, it was that vho model. I honestly think its a cool truck, but I would prefer a harley f150. My g/f brother has an 03 HD f150 and boy does that thing haul! a lil off topic there.
I couldn't find anything on the VHO. Where should I look?

It doesnt show it on the Chevy website cause its very limited to only a few states but soon be available in 05, as with the VHO it stands for Vortec High output using the Vortec 6000 LQ9, horsepower stays the same at 345 but the torque increase a little, its not AWD compared to the SS but a decent performer and rival against the Hemi or should i say Magnum Dodge.
I just saw another one! this is one impressive truck..... it starts with the SSR loading itself on the big rig while going in reverse, shortly after the big rig full of GM cars breaks down and the driver says "what are we going to do"? When out of nowhere comes this Silverado 4 door truck claiming more hp/torqe than both Ford and Dodge, and then goes on to tow the big rig down the road like nothing! I really could not tell though, if the Silver was actually towing the rig or if the rig was pushing the Silverado?....who knows.
Oh man Im going to buya Silverado immediatly. That commercial did it. Im not impressed.GMs had a tough year in selling trucks. But Ford been on a roll with there trucks. A s another GM add stated. Do you have the right truck. Yep its a Ford its the right truck.
