'59 doors won't stay open....

Is there some little piece my '59 doors are missing that won't allow them to stay open?....mine don't "catch' and stay open...rather they like to shut on me unless propped.
Thanks!

Yikes!!! I have the opposite problem: Mine won't stay closed. I wasn't planning to tackle this just yet, because it's occasional. But as long as Crutch has opened this topic, maybe we can have a discussion of both issues at once.

I don't know about 59 doors, but my 54 doors don't have any catch to keep them open. Maybe that was just the way they were made. Maybe that's the reason I see so many trucks with that nose down setup. Let gravity hold them open. LOL, Good luck, John

Yeah ... my '60 is the same way. The hinges are just hinges, nothing more. There isn't really any "catch." If your truck is parked on a relatively level surface, though, the friction in the hinges will hold them open.
