Exclamation Need fast reply and serious opinions based on fact!

I NEED to order my front monos today. I have the standard choice between 3 and 4.5" drops. My rear end is at stock height and won't be lowered for a while.

Do I buy the 3" so the rake won't be too severe, and worry about lowereing the front more later when I can do the back?

Would the 4.5" drops make too severe of a rake w/out lowering the rear?

Nothing on my truck is lowered yet, so it's all stock, with stock rims.

I just need any informed answer quickly, as I need to get the order in today so they get here in time.

Have you measured your front fenders for clearance with a 4.5" drop? A 4.5" drop would make it a noticeable rake.

Well, I can't. It's 900 miles away in Kansas. I have it "lowered" now with 4 leafs taken out. Prob is, the springs are for a 350 and don't fit right. The rake now looks perfect, I've posted a pic of it in my gallery.

I don't need my truck laying on the blacktop. It looks kool, but I need it to be functional daily. If I go 3", it gives me room to go lower w/a dropped axle. If I go 4.5" it would look great, even after lowering the rear it would still have a rake.

I just don't want to look like I'm augering in for the months before I can lower the rear.

Heres your fast reply! Go with the 3" drop this way you'll be sure it will still be functional, and with the 4.5" you'd be ready to plow ohio snow!

Kool! That's what I was thinkin'. I can always throw a dropped axle on later (if people would freakin' get one built! ). That way, it's lowered, and I still have room to play with.

Thanks gang!

Go with the 3" and you can get the rear down some with lower profile tires till you decide lower ther the whole thang.

Oh, I've decided that. It's a matter of finance, but if I were rich instead of so good lookin'....

I am going with the 3". Durant Enterprises, where I'm ordering from, gave me boatloads of info. The guy there said not to waste time and effort doing an axle flip on the rear. He said that the 4" - and even 6" - lowered mono springs work without modifying anything (other than bump stops). That's crazy to me.

Heck, if I go with 3" in front and 4" in back, I'll be low enough, be driveable, and still have a kool rake! Normally, I like lowered all around, but this truck cries for a slight rake in front.

A 6" drop without any mods? Shocks, shock mounts, and pinion angle issues come to mind immediately. A mod that radical never comes without some issues. I think you made a good decision going 3" in front.

I'm just thinking. If you droped the front 3" and the back 4" wouldn't that just even out the front and back since the back has always been about 1" higher than the front.
