Another leveling kit thread (I need help)

Alright, so my autospring 1.5 spacers are causing the upper control arms to contact the coil (this was over some very rough terrain, but it still shouldn't hit as far as I'm concerned). That was the straw that broke the camel's back, since I have never been totally happy with the leveled look. I want a little bit of front end rake, just not as much as the truck has stock. I have been going back and forth on whether or not to take the spacers out and leave it until I find something that only lifts the front 1 to 2 inches, not the 3 inches I got out of the autospring kit. So now that I see marks on both strut coils, I've decided to take the kit off.

I've read somewhere about maybe being able to split the daystar 2-inch kit for a 1-inch spacer. Is there any truth to that?

And Brian from Protech--if you read this, does your system offer what I'm looking for?

Help. Thanks,

Ryan

Hey, I'm glad you brought this up, if you recall I asked you about this issue just after you installed the autospring kit. I talked to Brian from protech and he's a VERY nice guy that answered all my questions (I'm sure he's answered the same ones 100's of times, but he never once acted like he was in a hurry). From our conversation, I think he will have what you're looking for, a small amount of top load along with spacers. Give him a call I'm sure he will be more than willing to answer any of your questions. I guess after reading this post I'll be going with his kit now.

Have you thought about adding a 2" block in the back?

I've actually thought about putting manual air bags under the rear, since I tow a lot. THat would keep me from sagging under load, and allow me to lift the rear about an inch. I might do that, but I didn't want to increase the overall height of the truck too much. I'm not going with very big tires (285/65/18s maybe), so i don't want to look like a jacked up truck with tiny tires under it. But I still haven't taken the leveling kit out. Someone's offered me $100 for it if I do, but I've simulated a little lift in the rear and now it's starting to grow on me.

I'm in a somewhat similar boat - ready for a lift, but not sure I want to go with a full 4 or 6 inch.

If there was only someone with pictures of a truck with daystars in the front, and a 2" block in the rear!

I have noticed the same thing, I really like the level look that the autospring provides but I do not want to kill the front suspension to get it. Thinking about taking them out.

I've been doing some more research and found an old thread from back in April. Sounds like the Protech 2-inch lift gives you and actual 2-inch rise. But, it may also stiffen the ride a bit. I also noticed that Protech used a half-inch spacer on top of the strut along with their 2.5 inch lift. What I'm trying to find out is whether I can buy just that half-inch spacer to replace my autospring 1.5 inch spacer with. I figure that would give me about 3/4 to 1-inch lift or so on the front, which would be exactly what I want. Just can't get ahold of Protech.
