Brother in law gets beat by a Powerstroke-again

My poor brother inlaw. Die hard Dodge man. He has a 2001 Ram 2500 QC Laramie with a 5 speed. He has added the full Banks kit, stacked it with a Superchips tuner, larger injectors, auxillary fuelpump, 315's, Mcleod clutch, yada yada yada. It is stout. He has went through two factory clutches, two aftermarket clutches, and two transmissions. to say he drives it hard is an understatement. His first 6.0 experience was against his buddies 2003 6.0 torqueshift. He had a Diablo chip and a muffler. Thats it. The 6.0 would win every time in races from a dead stop-100mph by a truck length. The only time he had a chance was when he launched in 4WD-hard. He would pull ahead by a trucklength and the 6.0 was ahead by 70 mph. By the way, the 6.0 ran 8.63 in the eighth mile and mid 13's in the quarter. It is a 250 4X4 SC. Fast. It has been in the shop for head gasket failures once already. The, yesterday, he told me he got top-ended by a guy on the interstate with a 6.0. In all fairness, the Banks system pulls power when the EGT's get too high. He said it was fairly even until that happened. We G-teched his truck and it estimated rwhp at 300. I know it is the fastest truck I have ever been in. I told the guy with the 6.0 (the one running 8.60's) I want to ride with him next time. I know trucks are for pulling, but the brother in law owns a speed shop and he has the bug bad. The big Dodge pulls a sled every summer in the local fair and it does well. Even he gives respect to the 6.0.

Dodges are made to pull sleds. Duramax's and PSD's are a lil better at the tracks. I really don't consider 300hp that much for real hp anymore. Chipped PSD or Dmax's typically get 13's in the 1/4 it's gettting more and more common. I'd say he's lucky he did as well as he did against the PSD. Just my $.02

I'd say the same thing, especially a modded 6.0.
