Good answers guys, really now take a closer look at that road racing machine, I'm sure he nees that to keep him glued down. or maybe blow that dust off, humm, if that works for the dust on that back window he really might have something there, whattya think?

Actually, the airfoils on the backs of older vans and station wagons were there for just that purpose. They helped keep the airflow from under the vehicle from rolling up and "cycloning", thus helping keep the back windows clean(er). Helpful in slushy weather.

I thought he had it there so the downforce would help him, get around the Nurburgring in under 8 mins...

Look closely. That thing is not angled to apply downforce.
If he can go fast enough it might lift the rear end.

Actually, my first thought (after my initial bout of laughter) was "TV reception?" I mean, it can't be just for looks, there are no curb feelers on it!

I thought the Dodge reproductive ram head in an earlier post was funny, but I laughed untill tears were dripping off my chin and my stomach hurt on this one.

That is a high speed cross wind stabilizer so that he won't spin out while being passed by semi's on the interstate while he's driving at speeds between 55 and 70.

Or, it could be an air current director which guides air up and around the top and back of the truck to safely deflect beer cans pitched out the window up and over and into the ditch.

I'm still laughing. It looks like the kind of setup my uncle from Georgia would drive, if it had whitewall tires that is.
