Spare tire mounting
#2
I removed it and threw in 2 cans of that tire sealer/inflator stuff. Never used it and buy news occasionally. I really wonder if they would inflate a 35". I understand that there could be damaged caused by using the stock sized tire on the drive axle, and same issues using it in the front with steering. I do not know, but if I get a flat that the cans will not inflate, a tow truck will help and my insurance will pay with no deductible.
If there is a good place for a 35" outside of the truck, preferably underneath it, I would consider. When space permits, I toss it in or on trailer, but with no room I pray and keep tires in good shape. I know this does not help you though.

I made a tire mount out of my roof rack and current tire carrier. I used to have a picture.
It was easy and I would put it up there on long road trips when I lived on the mainland. I made it so it wouldn't rest on the top and vibration free.
My wife never liked how it looked but it was effective during those long trips for creating more interior space.
Glad I never had a flat. It woulda been a pain for anyone but me to get it down!

I agree with your wife.......I don't like how they look on top either. And I agree with you on that one, it would be a pain to get the spare down for anyone including me, especially with the EX being lifted. MONSTA if you know of any other companies offering the hitch type mounts can you let us know........THANKS.........

I really don't think that there is an option short of putting a safari rack on the roof and carring it that way. The door since the are fiberglass can't sustanin the weight, unless somebody can redesign a rear door system. No room underneath on count of the fuel tank. Is it really that much of a problem for you? I just fold the 3 seat or take it out completly. I do use a hitch hauler when I need to go on hunting trips or vacations.

I run a steel safari rack mounted to the stock carrier rails. I tried carrying the tire up there but a series of potholes ripped the rack right out of the roof. The stock rails are press fitted into the sheet metal and not the roof cross members.
I like the rear mount.
