Headlight, Breaklight, and foglight questions 85 F150
Hey
Thanks for looking in
My headlights(low beam) have takes a dump (stopped working) on me a few times after i wired in the fog lights.
ok i put the fogs behind the grill and wired them direct to the headlights low beam, that made then go off after a few seconds so i unhooked the fogs and wired in a relay that switches the fogs on with the low beams. but i have had the lows pop off a few times since then. and im hoping to resolve this problem while i have the truck on block doing drive line and body work. were is the reseting fuse that runs the headlights? should i replace it since i may of cause the weakness with the fog light overload?
ok the tail lights worked fine but when i pulled the box off i noticed that the previous owner taped the trailer lights into the harness before the coupler plug not after in the short harness to the bulbs
what im wondering is where is the plug on the other end of the light harness for the tails? im replacing the wires due to the massive amount of corrosion and Birtle wire where it was "taped". im hoping that i can unplug the other end, clean and graft new wires onto the pug back to the new lights on the bed im going to make.
Thanks for your time and i hope that you can help

Welcome to FTE!
The problem with the lowbeams might be that running the fogs as well overheated the switch & wiring. Have a look at the wiring plug on the headlight switch to see if there's evidence of cooked wires.
Depending on how bad they look, you may only need to change the headlight switch. Changing the plug as well is always a good idea.
