For a Benjamin, you'd better check to see what's wrong. Does it run, rotted out, no title, unpaid registration, etc. I don't recall 390's in a 67. I couldn't imagine 100 bucks could get you anything that doesn't need work. Just how much work is the question.

the truck needs total restoration but i want to have something that no one else has, or few do have, . as i said, pics are unclear and not sure of any further info. I am more concerned with the rarity of the truck as to how to proceed. If they are not that uncommon, I would just as soon not bother. The owner just wants to get rid of it, seemingly at any cost(beast of burden).Husband died, wants to get rid of any junk trucks that he accumulated over the years. So, what do you think ?

Thanks, Rory

I can't say how rare the stepside 4x4's are, but I can say I don't see too many. I think you should think about how happy you will be after the truck is fixed up. I've seen a long bed stepside before, but it was a 2wd. If the body is in good shape, no rot, bed is in good shape, I think $100 is a great price. That's how I look at trucks anyway because I can fix all the mechanical aspects. Bodywork for me would add up too fast.

According to the standard catalog, there were around 900 4x4 stepsides made every year during that time. But there is no saying how many are actually left......
