Just did a quick search for "New York window tint law", I'll let you draw your own conclusions,as there is a bill pending to allow $50,000 to enforce tint laws. Good luck, George

as of right now, seeing that a nice officer told me..lol, front door windows must allow 75% light threw on 93+ cars/trucks and 92- cars/trucks must allow 25% light threw. But it might be different in NYC then upstate NY so I'd either ask a cop or check with a tint shop.

I'm not really sure whats the deal in years, I found out when a friend of the family who is a cop told me my 93 Ranger was very illeagal. That sucked big time seeing I just had them done a couple days before.

i had to scrape tint off my tbird, as i was pulled over for it being too dark. When the officer inspected the car, to prove a point he brought out his tint meter, it showed 76 percent with no tint. He then explained to me that the factory puts tint in the glass for a/c equipped vehicles, and the law leaves very little room for aftermarket tint.
