Who makes new repro VIN plates?

Does anyone know? Maybe Dennis Carpenter? Sacto Ford? I dunno, I don't have those catalogs. I have to believe SOMEone makes replacement VIN tags. You can get replacement tags for restoring gas pumps, and they're the same thing as the VIN - flat aluminum plate w/embossed info and a semi-flat background. Then you just punch in the info you need in the blank spots.

Mid-Fifty has them for 1953-56. They require proof of ownership.

There was a thread similar to this a while ago ... dunno if you remember it.

www.datatags.com does data plate restorations. From the photos on their website it looks like they're pretty bleemin' good at it.

Maybe that would serve your purposes?

I sent a friend that web site and he called them and they said go to a Boweling Alley and have them stamp a peice of metel and then they would paint it. I though by their web site they did all the work but guess not.

Thanks, Sixoh for threading this topic. The datatags website looks promising - thanks Koop.

It's just another link, or source of information I'm wanting to add to the registry site.

What should I name the site? I've been trying to think of something good, but don't want to use www.forgottenfords.com or anything negative. I want it to sound powerful and important!
