cubic ft.

The sub will take some space so you will probably need a little more than a cu ft. Your spec sheet should tell you how much volume it takes up. Then you just find the volume by multiplying the internal dimensions in inches and dividing by 1728,which is how many cu inches are in a cu ft.
ex: internal dimensions are 12"X12"X12" which =1728 cu inches. divide that by 1728 and you get 1 cu ft.
If the space you have to work in is 48"x11"x8" and using 3/4"mdf you will need a box
outer dimensions of 29.5"x11"x8" to get 1 cu ft. internal dimensions would be 28"x9.5"x6.5", then you would have to add a little to the width to take into acount the sub volume.
