31 MPG! no way! I have over 22k on mine and the best I get is 10 MPG. I might get 15 if I coasted downhill for about 200 miles every tank! Oh yea, out here in New Mexico and West Texas there ain't no hills!

My 7.3 was a dually with 4:10 gears with a microtuner and several other mods. It got 10-12 mpg at best at same speeds I drive my 6.0.The best it ever did was going to Fla once I was in no hurry and ran about 60-65 and it got 14mpg.My 6.0 has 3:73 and single wheel every thing else the same except color.
My 6.0 is consistently getting 17-18 driving back and forth to work. It was getting 18 mpg on highway miles. It got 22 mpg going to Ohio and back. I am making a 400 mile trip into North Carolina Sunday. I made that same trip probably 10 times in my dually so we will see. I will let you know when I get back.
This is my 100th post

10MPG? That strikes me as a little low. You have mods? Are you pulling a trailer?

You have big tires, heavy trailer, and different gears.
Deployed parachute………
Something is making you get rotten MPG

That is very high mileage for around town driving. That is good mileage for highway driving. How is it being calculated. 14-16 around town is not real bad. Maybe your friend is jerking you around or is miscalculating the fuel.

He could be using just the OH and not doing the math, a continuing issue.

I have an XLT and don't have the overhead console. From what I have read so far, I don't think I am missing anything.

Maybe that parachute does have something to do with it!

Actually I didn't expect great mileage and my truck is an FX4 crew cab dually with about 2 tons of ranchhand parts on it and I pull a 4k (empty weight) horse trailer at least 2 horses and gear. I also have a hard time not taking advantage of the awesome power of this magnificent truck. Maybe my foot is the main culprit . Empty on a road trip to Albuquerque I kept my foot out of it for a full tank (boy was that hard) and I got 12 MPG.

I didn't realize you were in NM. Most people don't even know we exist. But then most New Mexican's from up north don't know about us down here in the SE corner either.
