Talking 35 in Tires

Does anyone know what standard 35 in tire size will fit my 04 F150 with a 2.5 in Daystar kit. I have the BFG 285/70/17's which look great but they look like the tires that should have come from the factory not a bigger beefier tire. I just want to know what the biggest and cheapest tire size is.

A few have put 315/70/17 BFG's on the stock rims with the daystar and claim no problems. The tire mfg requires 8.5" wide rims while stock is only 7.5" but a few are doing it anyway. The BFG's are actually 34.5".

BFG 315s on with Daystar

I just put 315s on to my truck with the Daystar. There is no rubbing what so ever. No cutting required either.

I have driven daily plus wheeled hard with 315/70R17 (34.5") BFG AT tires with "our" ProtechEZLift 2.0, 2.5, 2.75 and currently have our 3.0" kit installed. No problems with tires rubbing even with the 2.0" lift.

The recommended wheel width is just that "recommended" nothing bad is going to happen if you go a little narrower or wider than the recommended. I would always go narrow if anything as it actually makes the tire a little taller and the wheel is less likely to get damaged plus less likely to have the tire come off the bead when aired down off road.

Just my $.02

Take Care,
Brian at www.ProtechEZLift.com

check out Brian's web site link. www.ProtechEZLift.com
go to "our rides" and check out the 04 F150.
These are GREAT pictures and really looks like a GREAT product.

Little bit of rubbing with 315s

I rescind my earlier message of no rubbing whatsoever. I noticed it today going in reverse with the steering wheel maxed, that there was a slight rub. Nothing big, and you can definitely live with it.

CJ-Don't know yet. I just got them put on last Friday and I did not drive it much over the weekend. Give me a couple weeks and I will let you know.

Thats cool, I wonder if I buy Protechs lift kit (2.75 or 3"), will I get the same light / minor rubbing you are getting at 2.5".
