Towing in Overdrive

I have a 2000 Standard Cab, F-350 Dually, 7.3 PSD with manual (6 speed) transmission. I am going to be towing a travel trailer which weighs about 6,500 pounds. Is there any problem pulling this load in overdrive, as long as I don't "lug" the engine in the Tennessee mountains? So far, I am really enjoying this vehicle (my first diesel) and am gaining more appreciation for it every day! This is a great web site, and a very valuable resource. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

I have no doubt that the ZF6 tranny will handle 6,500lbs in 6th, as my ZF5 handles that much in 5th just fine. To be safe, I'd like to add a trans. temp gauge, and that would be my advice to you...Ain't that funny??? Here I am tellin you to do something I haven't done yet either!!! haha.
