53-55 F100 Windshield Replace?

Hello Everyone. First time question here, have been here almost every day reading though, and even giving input now and then, love the site. I'm building up a 53 F100, IFS, 351W-C6. I've got the drivetrain done, and am currently finishing up the cab and interior, before tackling the bed. I've replaced the rear window myself, and put in one piece door windows, but have been kind of leary about swapping the windshield myself. Can anyone tell me if it's as straight forward as the rear window? Or has anyone seen any articles on replacing one? Appreciate the help, figure before I make an expensive "trial and error" mistake I'd better ask for help. Thanks, Ken

Because of its size, I would not recommend trying the windshield by yourself. A friend helped me do both the front and back windows last year. The front windshied was actually a little easier than the rear. The pulling of the rope is vital to get the lip in, but you need somebody else pushing in from the front as you do it. Good luck, John

53-56 windshield

my son and my hubby did both the windshield and rear slider in my 54 just be carefull not to put too much pressure on it or youll break the glass and remember to use lots of dishsoap on the weatherstrip/ rope before pulling glass into place slides easier around the weatherstrip and pull up on the rope or you will tear the weatherstripping hope this helps julie
