slide-in camper power hookup

i just bought a 2004 f150 s/c 5.4 long box to carry my camper around. my old chev came with a wiring harness so all i needed to do was plug it right into the front of the camper for turn signals, lights, brakes lights, etc. i cannot see where a wiring harness has been provided on my new truck. can anyone advise the best and most efficient way to get power to the front of the box so that i can plug into the camper? it is a 6 wire connection. thanks.

Just run your wire from the camper to the rear plug-in. You can make one out of 6 or 7-way trailer wire. Plug it into your camper, run it along the camper and inside of bed, to the rear plug. Much better than splicing into the main wiring.

I'm curious as to how your slide-in fits on this newer sized bed. Does everything fit?

hi there
thanks for the info. i was hoping there may be an electrcal junction beneath the box, with easy accessibility, but ford is not as user friendly on camper hookups as chevy was. seems no truck mfg really wants you to put in a slide-in camper as they all have all these disclaimers, etc. it is still winter here in minnesota so i have not put the camper in yet. because the box sides are now 2 inches higher, i am anticipating that i will have to put 2x4's or maybe 4x4's in the box for the camper to sit on so it does not rest on the box sides, or bottom out on the roof of the cab. right now, with only 550 miles on the truck i am very unhappy about my mileage. from 11.5 to 12.5 so far under easy driving conditions. i am just getting ready for a long road trip so i am sure hoping the mileage improves. not sure if it is the 4.10 axle or just a bad engine that i am dealing with. would love to see 16-17, and the sticker said up to 18mpg. thanks. clancey
