Flowmaster exhaust tone

I ordered a Flowmaster exhaust system (Flowmaster Part Number 17394). It's Super 40 Series cat back. Single in, Dual out behind the tires. I guess I should have asked before I ordered it but will this add the nice low exhaust tone without taking the paint off my neighbors house every time I come or go?
Thanks in advance for the input!

40 series is one of the louder ones, but shouldn't be too bad unless you really floor it. It will turn some heads and sound alot better than stock for sure.

Thanks and why did you choose Poweraid TBS over the Airraid TBS? Was it all about the spiral air flow?

Poweraid/Airraid its the same company, they just named the TBS poweraid for some reason (unless something has changed since I got it).

FIRST2004F150 I checked with Airaid about installing both their Poweraid spacer and the Airaid intake but they replied due to space limitations you could not use them both in conjuction on the 2004 5.4L. If you install the Airaid intake you will see why(there is just not enough space). Airaid suggested using thier intake system over their TB spacer because the intake would produce the bigger HP gains. Hope this helps.

Thanks SQCRUSE. I'm going to wait on doing anything until the Kenne Bell Twin Screw Supercharger is out. It should have it's own intake. I called them and they said it should be out by June. Just in time for summer! I'll let everyone know how it installs/runs/sounds and about the gains...fuel mileage/HP/Torque.

First,

I had the Flowmaster 40 series in all stainless, 3.0" pipes installed on my Lariat and the sound is awesome!!! Even my buddies at work have asked where I got it done... It's a super-aggressive exhaust note that cannot be missed. (My buddy at work with a Ram 1500 Hemi got his hooked up as well)

Where did you get and how does it perform. Speaking about the poweraid tbs.

Thanks

Nothing. I prefer a much deeper, throatier exhaust tone. It all amount to personal choice. I'm also doing it to help the engine exhale so I can make it inhale harder with a blower.

FlowMaster 17394

First2004F150-

Did you purchase the Flowmaster 17394 from Flowmaster and have it installed at a muffler shop? Further more, How is the sound inside the truck ?

Thanks.

I ordered it from a local parts house 7 days ago. I was able to get a better deal on it that way. They said it should take 7 to 10 days to arrive. I'm going to do the install myself. I haven't got it yet but as soon as I do I'll let everyone know how it sounds inside and outside the truck.

After several problems actually getting the kit, Summit Racing came through for 353.00. The install took 45 minute. The kit is well thought out and all parts fit as they should with the proper clearance. The only item I changed was the ring clamp at the end of the Y pipe. I used a 2.5 inch stainless steel band clamp and this took care of the exhaust leak. The tone is great. Sounds great when you floor it and very quiet when you're idling or cruising. Outside sound at idle or low throttle is a nice low tone without being obnoxious. Inside the cab the tone is just right. Light throttle or idle is almost not noticable and when you floor it...OH YEAH! I have 2 friends with 04 f150s. One has the Gibson system and the other has the Magnaflow system. We take turns trying different parts and I didn't like either one of their systems after they installed. They've both ordered the Flowmaster system to replace what they have.

Hi. I'd like to add horsepower to my 2004 F150 but unlike others here don't want a louder sound. One sales reason I bought the truck was because of the quieter comfortable ride. Would the Gibson or Magnaflow be a quieter choice for me? Thanks for any advice.
