Don't be fooled by fram. I'm not tryin to knock a product I've never used but my friends are in an automotive class at the highschool I went to and they cut apart a fram oil filter and a regular napa oil filter and the fram looked a lot cheaper inside and was obviously inferior. I will however stick up for K&N. they are more expensive, but my truck tends to plow oil filters apart on start up(haven't yet found out why) and K&N is the only one i can find that will hold up to it.
there is an article sumwhere on the net where a guy did a pretty extensive test on all brands. the fram comes out to be the worse. puroilator has has the best. puroilator makes the motorcraft filter....
We used to run KN on the pulling truck and then switched back to motorcraft FL-1A HP. The HP's are a little more expensive, but they work pretty decent. I started running them on the street truck as well.
I only use Motorcraft. I can get them for less than $5 a piece (CANADIAN) at the dealership. A little more expensive than the other brands but worth it.
see I used to use motorcraft.......then I blew a canister completely apart.......it sure makes a nice show piece though......I use it to hold my pushrods that bent into and s shape........did I mention my truck has had a rough life?
