FX4 vs Lariat '04 F-150

I really only need the options that come in the FX4, the Lariat is slightly overkill, but coming out of a Super-duty, I really want a smooth ride for traveling. The FX4 has "off-road tuned" shocks, anyone know if it's a rough rider?

Hey Danno i'm making the same exact switch from a Super Duty to the FX4. Go test drive an FX4 and you'll be VERY IMPRESSEDwith the ride quality compared to your SD. I can't comment on the Lariat ride quality but I would assume it to be equal to if not greater than the FX4.

Danno,
I traded in a 99 F350 for my 150 FX4 and to me there is no comparison the 150 is much better. My 350 was lifted with 39x18.5's andthis probably has alittle to do with it but my exgirlfriend has a stock 250 and my 350 rode better than hers. Hope this help you.

You can't go wrong with the FX4. Great ride. I can't say enough.

Thank you for the responses. Is the FX4 available in all white, or only with the gray bottom? I need all white to match my other trucks in my business, and I really like the all white look.

Lariat is a better ride than the Fx4. My buddy that owns an fx4 jumped in my Lariat and wanted to trade me.

Thank You! I'm actually going to the dealership now to order the Lariat. Thank you all for the input, I'll post a pic when I pick it up.

I like everything about the FX4 except the bumpers. Wish they were chrome. How do you like the painted bumper look on yours? I'd be getting black as well.

I like my FX4, but to say it has a nice ride would be a stretch.

Yes I'm gonna be waiting probably 8 weeks for the Lariat. I'm trading in my F-250 this week so I can "lock in" my trade-in. At least I'll have a 2 month break from the payments. I have 3 Rangers for my business I can use in the meantime.

Compared to what? Mine is the smoothest quietest vehicle I've ever driven in 30 yrs of driving.-Jack

Anyone have pics of the Lariat interior in gray or black. The Ford site seems to think Lariat people prefer tan since they didn't bother to post any other pics.

I drove a buddy's Lariat days before finally getting my FX4 and thought the rides were very comparable. I like the ride my 04 offers, a little stiffer than my 97 Lariat, but not as much sway while cornering, not to mention the quieter ride.

I was gonna get the tan until I saw the black leather captains chairs in the Lariat on this site - check out the gallery, and search 2004 F-150 4x4s. I ordered the black today. Hopefully I'll have it by April.
