right on chad.... i paid around 1200 to re-gear.

unless you need a new carrier, this should be the price you'll pay.. a new carrier will run you another few bucks (~100).

gear size should not change the cost..... you are limited by the rear end (sterling 10.5) to 4.56 or 5.38.... (or higher)

you may want to put a locker in there while you have it open as the labor rate should not go up since it takes no more work while they are in there... i did mine after the fact and had to pay the labor all over again

Post price to re-gear???

Mine ran about 2300 for gears and lockers, the lockers themselves cost about 600 each. So if you subtract the cost of lockers, then my regear would have been around 1150, so I guess that's the going rate. Lockers will keep you from spinning one tire if you lose traction on that tire. There are pros and cons about running lockers, it depends on what you plan to do with your truck. Do an internet search about Detroit Lockers and you'll find a ton of info about them, and also limited slips.
ProGear did my gears, they are near San Diego if you're that far south. All they do is gears, and they set up many of the race cars/trucks in SoCal. They did an excellent job, and they were super careful about not getting my new truck all greasy which was really appreciated.

We get between $500 and $800 to set up a rearend, ring&pinion and bearings and seals are extra. My partner handeles all the setups, he's been doing gears since he was 14, and is considered the top dog around here.
He does 90% of all the nascar modifieds we have at our 4 local tracks.
