Drip Rail Cancer

I have a 79 F350 Super Cab with the some rust cancer at the bottom of the drip rail. How do I get the drip rail off the cab so I can properly clean and patch this area?

Thanks for the help!

If it is like my 79 F150, the rails are a part of the metal cab structure, so I could see no way to remove them. My rails were not badly rusted, just some spots, so I just sanded the spots to good metal, used Picklex 20 as a rust convertor on the pitted areas, epoxy primed, then put on a primer surfacer, then bc/cc. This worked for me because I painted my whole truck which made it easy, but if your doing just spot paint repairs, then you will have a paint blending issue to deal with of course, good luck on your project,

Thanks Greg,

I will be painting the truck too. I figured that at the least I would get rid of the rust, treat it, fill and paint.
