Cool New here, check out my ride

Hi i'm new here. I'm 16 1/2 and here's a pic of my first ride (still have of course, will never get rid of it). Here's my album link https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...?&albumid=7881

Look foward to getting to know you all and if anyone is in my area (columbus, IN) maybe we can get together sometime.

thanks.
like your truck too. mine has new paint a year ago (cheap with much hardener and no clear coat) before i got it. She was owned by a major concrete company for the first 11 years and 186k miles of her life then sat for 2 years for sale (was painted during this time) and i got her in early summer of '03. Never had a hitch or trailer lights hooked up and the bed was in good shape, tailgate shut like new, interior good shape, i am sure it was a foreman's truck for all this.
I make it work for it's living though- I do commercial lawn care and all spring, summer and fall it pulls a trailer with equipment. Then at night i can take it cruising and it does hold it's own with the other trucks (but they're all jacked up with big tires, faster gears and smaller motors so they don't have a chance LOL). Chics love it. so do i!

Nice clean looking truck. My first truck is also in my sig. I'm 19, had this one since 16, plan on keeping it for a long time to come. "rather push a Ford, ..."

No clear coat & it shines like that?

Well, I guess I'll save myself several hundred dollars & just use a single stage paint instead of BC/CC.

Thanks ocanas & acerockola!

Parks, correct and no wax either (i can't figure out why i haven't waxed it but i guess my excuse is i'm too busy and it's too cold). The shine may be due in part to the high hardener content which i do not recommend! it chips and scratches easily right down to the primer. I really need to wax it when it warms up. The paint can kinda stain if the road gunk sits on it too long. Which reminds me I need to wash it but alas, it's too cold and it would freeze

Yes, the 351 is one heckuva workhorse. We had one in a '84 F-150, ran real smooth and had great power.

Is that the original engine? You have quite a truck there especially with the ZF-5. I'd love to have had one in the '84 before we sold it.

Glad you saved one of the best trucks built.

I wish they were like that around here, all I get is mean looks. If I had a 2 wheel drive, your truck's exactly what I'd want.

just to throw this out there, what would you guys say if someone with a dodge 2500 cummins diesel, jacked up wiht huge tires, "stock" other than that, asked you to race.

and another one, what would you guys say if someone with a 01 supercrew f-150, triton 5.4 not the new 3 valve, 4x4 asked you to race.

im thinking a 351 in good shape could hold its own with the triton 5.4, all other things considered, not talking about the new one btw. hell no if it was the new 3 valve one.

personally ill race anyone and everybody, but i sure as heck dont expect to win them all.
