I stocked up on Levis a few years ago, I won't buy them anymore, they're quality has been very questionable recently. If I am to buy a pair, I'll go to the second hand clothes stores. And I agree, silver tab Levis, is alot like NEW coke. Never should've happened.

Where is that documented? Predatory pricing can get you in a sh** load of trouble in a hurry. I know small independent Soft drink distributors have sought protection from Coca Cola Enterprises by claiming this. Millions have flowed out of CCE from losing these lawsuits.
I honestly can't tell you where I saw it. It may have been a Newsweek article where they were talking about Walmart's huge success despite the economy, and they mentioned that particular tactic in there somewhere.

All I know is I read that and felt sick.

EDIT: I did some poking around the 'net and didn't find anything, so maybe I was buying into some heresay...

I don't know where they are made but Carhart is so much better anyway
Is there a label on the garmet showing where they are made? I'm curious now.

On edit:

I just looked at the label on a Carhat t-shirt of mine Made in the Domican Republic

So what is the answer to the Made in America problem? Almost everything is made elswhere now including many things on Ford trucks. What are good moves for our economy (and Canada's - sorry Dennis) to keep healthy, survive and grow? I don't see how it works even if everyone only purchases home grown products we can't afford each other now. Yet if everything is made and done out of country and all we do is buy it has to create a vacuum leading to ruin.

I really don't know if there will ever be a real answer to the "Made in America" problems.

I really believe that our trade agreements have helped many people to prosper through out the world, but at the expense of American jobs.

Which product? 13MWZ's? I just called their HQ in Greensboro, NC (336-332-5609) to find out what's going on and left a message posing the question regarding where are they made. I'll post as soon as they return my call. BTW, those Rustlers that WalFart sells..........just as I thought, Wrangler makes em. Go to http://wrangler.com/pages/brand_home...&brand=RUSTLER and then click on "find a store". In my area, it's WalFart, K Fart, and Shopko.

Just inside the border of the Mexican-Texas border on I-35 is a GIANT Wal-Mart Wharehouse. Why, becuase thats where the Mexican drivers drop off ad the American drivers pick up. To hell with Wal-mart. And my Wranglers arent made in the US either. Things might be assembled here, but the parts are foreign.
If you want a little history on WalMart, Playboy had a great article a few months ago, very biased, but interesting.

Walmart imports more Chinese goods than any other company. They aren't Union.

I got the pickle company wrong. (It's the other "premium" pickle.)

Here's an eye opener...

Thanks Ken.

I wonder if there are some signs I could put up outside of Wal Mart ot educate the people. There has to be a group dedicated to shutting down this place.

The stuff that comes from CHINA is simply TRASH.
It would be different if the products they sell would be high quailty but it's TRASH. The bad thing is that that's all there is to buy, nobody sells american products anymore so my standard of living has been reduced.
All of this is the greedy governments fault for letting this stuff thru our borders. I would image that they get kickbacks somehow.
