I've been contemplating this thought for my '67 352. Basically build a custom set of manifold with mounts for turbo's on each side. This will feed into a box for carb(one you can buy from paxton or such). I'm thinking mild stuff, like 5-6 lbs of boost. Two turbo's from like a 4 cyl, small, quick to spool. Low buck, build it myself. There is lots of room under the hood of a '67 F100.
I think it's do-able. Just need to build a fresher motor, mine is over the hill and I dont think it would last. I have one more sitting in the garage that is just begging for attention.

Yeah I think turbos are great, you could pick up a pair of shorty headers, mount them upside down and run your turbos of that. You could probobly do a low-buck junkyard setup reletivly cheap, and get some awesome power to boot. I don't know the cost of of blow off valves and all the related stuff, but if you have a tubing bender you could probobly figure it out. Probobly the toughest part would be the intercooler. I am not sure......Good topic though!

I'm not too sure I would worry about an intercooler at the present time. Just getting it running would be great.
I have a welder, so alot is possible. Have lots of connections to get anything I can't. I think I would stick to simple and then someday add on. With minimal boost I dont think a cooler would be necessary. A cool upgrade though.

I've driven a few turbo "ricer" cars but have not driven or rode in a vehicle with a 6-71. What is the draw back to the 6-71 that would make you guys want to go with a turbo? I know there is alot involved with a turbo kit made for a certain car but to fab a kit for our motors...I really don't think I would want the headache for the little bit of added power if the holley could only take 6 psi. Now if the holley could handle like 18 PSI that might be a different story. By the way I recall an article in a mustang mag where they twin turbo'ed a 5.o with a carb. 900 hp on 8.5 compression and mild turbo cam. Cost them $2000 total using the SVO turbo's. Picked the stuff up at the salvage yards and had custom pipes bent. Turbo's ran like $150 each. SVO turbo's are capable of 23 psi by the way. All the turbo's I have driven had serious turbo lag. It costs alot to reduce it and unless you went with a turbo AND super charger I really don't think it could be elimenated. I would rather see what my motor does with a BDS blower on it. Just my $.02

I will have to look through the box of magazines. I keep them all for referance. If I recall they used the paxton box on top to push through. The stang was a mid 80's highway patrol. They freshened the lower half and put the gt40 heads on. Nothing fancy with the heads, straight out of the box. It was the turbo's set at a high psi that made the power. I couldn't tell you how long it lasted though. I would think with even 15 psi on stock lower end it would blow up quick. As soon as find it I will post the magazine name and date.
