'86 B2000 Manual Transmission.. what model?
I'm asking this for a person who needs to know.
It's an '86 B2000, and he needs to know if it takes ATF or Gear oil. I don't want him to end up with the wrong stuff.. since gear oil in a tranny that is supposed to take ATF is bad bad news.
Can anyone help out?
Thanks in advance!

I posted this info for someone else but it should help you:
The Mitsubishi and early Mazda TK5 transmissions use 80wgt transmission oil. Later model Mazda transmissions use Mercon/dexron.
The Mitsubishi transmission has a formed sheet metal bottom cover that is bolted to the aluminum case. The early Mazda TK5 has a ribbed cast aluminum bottom cover bolted to the case. The later Mazda transmissions have a round bottomed cast aluminum case (no bottom cover).
