Who has a gun rack in the rear window?
Up here in Michigan- never see them but remember them when going to other parts of the country.
Are they just for hunting season or what?
I would think you would have to worry about getting ripped off to leave a gun in the truck.
Plus the cops around here might view you as threatening or something.

My vote would be NO if that were a choice. I do not own guns and have no need since I don't hunt.
At one time my son's and I thought of designing and developing for sale a rear window decal of a gun rack and rifle for pick-ups. I think it would have sold. It would have been a good way to make a statement without actually displaying your weapon!
Any takers out there? I could still go into the business!

I drive a Ranger. I'd have to open a window for the barrel to stick out..
But, anyway... My grandfather's trucks always had em.
Me, I live in upstate NY, I'd spend the better part of my life explaining it to Cops, and NYS Troopers draw first and ask second.
I don't feel like getting shot over a decoration.

When I first moved to the country, I bought the pickup truck, because when you live in the country, you HAVE to have a pickup. Then all my neighbors kept asking when I was going to get a "rack" for the rear window. So I went out and got one. Little did I know they were talking about a GUN rack.
That was 15 years ago, and my neighbors STILL laugh about the time their naive new neighbor put a SPICE RACK in the rear window of his pickup truck...............(hey, you never know when you'll need that emergency jar of coriander!)

When I grew up every pickup we owned had a gun rack and usually one or weapons hanging in it. Can hardly imagine that the truck I used to drive to school in would break Federal law today.
Both trucks I own today have racks in them but I seldom have a weapon hanging in them unless I'm actually headed to the field to hunt. One truck has a gun pouch in the back of the seat cover, nice handy spot for a long arm.

Right now mine has a curling broom, a hockey stick , and two hats hanging on it. Summer time, it has a fishing rod and maybe a flower watering wand, and fall it has a rifle and/or a gun.
They are still legal here according to the local police, as long as you dont leave the truck un attended.
