You can find out what ford owns here:

Ford does not list Cummins as one of their "Brands" here: http://www.ford.com/en/company/about/brands/default.htm

Cummins is NOT owned by Ford or anyone else, but just signed a deal with Ford to put engines in their trucks. Last year Cummins installed a diesel in to the Durango and they drive it around 24 hours a day around the city and interstate on set route waiting for the engine to quit. It has over a million miles on it and still counting.
Every few years they let folks bring their trucks to town and WILL swap any Cummins engine with over a million miles on it. That is pretty cool of them to give you a brand new one, so they can tear your old one apart and look at it. To my knowledge only one person has taken them up on it, twice.

Apparantely its going to take a LONG TIME for everyone to finally understand beyond any and all doubts that Ford Motor Co., does not now, and never has," EVER" owned Cummins Corp.
Once upon a time, long, long ago, Ford had purchased a mere 10% stock in the company-that does not constitute ownership-nor even a significant influence in the directives of company policy.
Ford no longer even has this 10% stock anymore. Ford can't use it's own engine, cause' they licensed it to Dodge?...lol. Come' on
man, do you think for a minute that Ford would ever do this? You think if Ford had rights to the ISB, that they would stick their own customers with the 6.0, and continue to allow Dodge to market their trucks with the best diesel ever put into a pickup? The Cummins ISB is by far the best diesel going-theres NEVER been a better diesel available in the pickup truck market, and there probably never will be. It's been the engine by which all others have been judged.
In fact the only reason Ford is able to offer it as an option at all in their med duty trucks is because Dodge is not in that market. But should they ever decide to enter that market,it's doubtful that Ford would be able to offer the ISB anymore since they would be in direct competition with Dodge as they are now in the pickup market.
And for those of you that like to make the claim that the International T-444-E(7.3LPSD) is also a med duty truck engine equivelent to the Cummins-keep this in mind, - Ford also offered the PSD in med duty trucks as standard, but you could pay more to get the Cummins ISB as an UPGRADE.
Also this new 6.0PSD is NOT a med duty engine, while it is manufactured by International, it was DESIGNED specifically for the Ford SuperDuty trucks-meaning its classed as a LIGHT DUTY automotive engine-whereas the Cummins ISB remains a MEDIUM DUTY commercial engine.
That ought to clarify things......
