Just wondering which one would be better for the PSD. The Ram Air or the Heat Extractor Hood? Thanks

I think the "Heat Extractor" hood would be better as far as performance goes , but how much could it help ? I think the hood choice is more for looks than anything.....

It's the Heat Extractor hood made by Keystone Restyling Products.

I bought the hood from Here , they had the cheapest price at the time I bought it (I called all the companies that advertise in Truckin' magazine and everyone else was $100 more).

FYI, the hood got shipped directly from Keystone by truck and they would only deliver it to a business address.

Hope this helps.

Is it strictly looks, any improvment anywhere?

I bought it mainly for looks and that the vents in it are functional and are supposed to help remove hot air from the engine bay.......I have no proof that it does or doesn't do this.

Well it must help, did not know it had active vents.
From a thermodynamics point of view if you heat air it expands, all the air that enters these monsters is heated, one only needs to open his hood and figure out that the heated air gets trapped, just not enough ways for it to escape.

Question:

Was the hood already painted, when you purchased it or did you have to do it yourself or through the dealer?

I was considering a similar hood from Keystone, but was not quiet sure if it is only the "raw" hood?

Thanks

Does not come painted. A buddy of mine owns a body shop and they prepped, painted, and buffed it.

Hope this helps.
