Smallest Engine in a RWD Car

I got a question for all you's out there

What was the smallest engine EVER available in a mass produced rear wheel drive car? I want something small for a little dune buggy (yes I'm still thinking bigger, but the little has ha me all day!)

And

What was the smallest V8 RWD available?

Thanks!

Chevy had a small car in the mid 80's with a 4 banger RWD (think it was a Citation).

262, 267, 283, 302 for Chevy.

On edit.........

Buick and Olds made a small aluminum V8 around 1963-1965 but I can't remember the size, around like a 235 on the Buick.

chevy made a 305 not a 302, 302's were ford, but chevy and ford both called them 5.0's, i figured chebby made something smaller than the 305 but i dont keep up on chevy so thats prolly why.

Chevy 302 was in a 1969 Z-28 and it was a 327 block + a 283 crank. These motors are quite scarce and worth $$$ if you come across it and the serial number shows it was a 302.

Chevy had a 302 in the 68/9 z/28 camaros, hot little motor worth mucho dinero today, im sure a good bare block would easily bring 2k on ebay

I believe it was for trans am racing, revved to the moon and coupled with a rock chrusher nearly indestructable

Also designed for transam racing is a rare oddity i see on ebay is an autolite inline 4 barrel and cross boss intake with the tuning manual and jets its at $2750.00 right now with 17 bids and the reserve is met, out of the quad cities

Hey, I've got a 239 V8 in my truck.
Ford only made them for 2 years 54 and 55. It is a Y-Block, heavy engine.

I haven't had it running yet and have a long ways to go before I can drive the truck.

Smallest Eng

Chebby made a three cylinder for the little eco car in the mid 70's. I can't remember what it was called though. My brother had one and put about 250,000 one the little thing going back and forth accross country in the military. Does anyone remember what it was called. It wasn't a Vega or a Cleberity ......
