Question Flathead 6 replacement

My recent purchase of a 53 F700 Dump truck came with a falthead 6. The truck has been sitting since 1986 with the head off. If I find the engine is junk, can I get another engine to match up to the original transmission? I have a 351w waiting to be used. -Bigjob

Which tranny?
The 4spd and LD 5spd will bolt to a flathead V8 as well as a Y block with its matching bell housing/adaptor. The HD 5spd requires its own bellhousing.
You can also use any of the 52-63 279/317 & 302/332 Big Job engines with the same tranny caveats.

I dont know about adapting a FE/FT or any of the SBF family and later engines.
