Anyone have a BBK Throttle Body on your EFI 460?

I'm thinking the next step for my '94 F250 will be the BBK throttle body (twin 61mm.) I already have Banks headers, intake and cat-back exhaust. I've read some of the other threads on throttle bodies, but haven't seen anything specific to the 460. Anyone here have seat of the pants experience with the bigger TB? I don't expect too much, but every little bit adds up. . .

Thanks!

I think the bottle neck on the EFI 460's are the heads. Although your 94 has the bigger valves, the intake runners are smaller to increase velocity of air for low end torque.

In my opinion even the stock TB is too big for maximum low end torque and power. I would not change it unless your going to change cams, run headers/duals, port the exhaust ports, and plan on using your truck more for racing than off roading or towing.

Spend your money on something else unless you have done some motor work. Look into getting an adustible fuel pressure regulator. I just put one on my truck and it made a noticable difference. I also would like to hear from someone who has the bigger throttle body.

Thanks guys - I definitely will go with the adjustable fuel pressure regulator first. We'll have to swap optimum pressure stories! I'm thinking the throttle body might be worth it (5-10hp) if I can find a chipmaker that could give me somthing that would take advantage of it (bigger TB.) Superchips came up empty for this truck and I'm not getting any responses from Diablo thus far. I'll have to get on the computer chip forum and see what turns up there. . . .

I have run my pressure at 41 psi for 300 miles so far and it seems to be working good.

You don't deal with Diablo directly, but through their dealers. We can program for the TB.

Since it was posted 21 years ago I'll say I used a BBK fuel pressure regulator and I started having a weird Idle so I checked my fuel pressure and discovered the vacuum port was leaking where it goes into the regulator. It was only a year old so I felt like it was a waste of money.
