F250 Problems Flashing Od, Speedo Not Working, Abs Light On....humming Noise?

My dads 250 is acting up all of a sudden. The truck is making a humming noise, the overdrive light is flashing, the abs light is on, and the speedometer quits working when you push the gas pedal and starts working when you take your foot off the gas. Any ideas of what is going on with this thing?

Well, it wasn't the sensor, but...............removing the sensor to replace it revieled the real problem. Upon removing the sensor, he noticed metal shavings. About 6 months ago, he had DTS in grand rapids, mich install a locker in his truck. Well, he removed the rear diff cover and noticed that the top bolt on one of the carrier bearings was loose and the bottom bolt was broke off. This caused the diff to grind against the cover when under power. He called the place that did the work and it sounds like they think my dad abused his truck?? I love how places charge you out the a$$ to do work, but won't stand behind the work when they screw up. Now I know not to take my truck to them. I am taking my 01 supercrew F150 to the AUTO BARN in grand rapids to have 4.56 gears installed front and rear, a 6 inch skyjacker system installed, rancho 9000 shocks, 16x8 inch weld stonecrushers, and 35x12.5x16 pro comp mud terrians put on this weekend. Hopefully all goes well with mine. Thanks for the input about the sensor. Checking that saved my dad some big $$ because he noticed the problem from checking the sensor before total destruction. Thanks again!

Hey Monsta,

Part number for rear differential speed sensor is "F 8 5 Z - 2 L 3 7 3 - A B" This is for 2000 F-250 4x4 V-10 Auto, althought they are all probaly the same. It does come with the O-ring.
