I'm to new to the forum to be able to email you directly, so I thought I might be able to get your attention this way. Would you please tell me what steps you had to take to get your engine replaced? I spoke with a service manager this morning about my 5.4 (it has the same problem yours did) and explained that it sounded like "piston slap" because my truck also sounds like a diesel in the morning. I only have 200 miles on it!!! The service manager assured me that he has seen several of these, and Ford WIL NOT replace my engine!!! How did you get them to do it?

Please help...
