Tires and Performance

On a '93 5.8 whats the largest tire I can fit withouth a lift? I've seen a couple of Bronco's in my year range with 32/11.50's but I'm a little skeptical since most places only recommend 31/10.50's. Any thoughts? As a side question does anyone know what a Bronco('93 5.8 4spd) will run 0-60 or in the 1/4?

I put '33 Super swampers on my bone stock lift '89 bronco with a 5.8. Very little rubbing, in fact, read my other post about my tires, it will tell u the problems I have.

Typically speaking, most people have had reasonably good luck running 32x11.50's on the stock rims and zero lift. Tire dealers will consult their charts and come back with that answer which by most standards is true. The 32x11.50's could rub at full suspension compression and hard-over steering functions at the same time. 31x10.50's are so close to the same size as the stock 265/75R15's that they can be used in place of the stock tires with virtually no difference in handling.

greystreak, what problems would one have in running 33x10.5's? I realize that does not leave alot of room for flexing but I havent done any off roading since gettin my bronco and dont see my self doing any any time soon. Will I still need to space my bumper out a little bit or is that rubbing a problem due to the width of the 33x12.5's?

Well then why are you getting such large tires?

Just to make it look bigger?

(Not trying to be an a-hole, but seriously wondering)

yeah... to be honest. I have undersized ones on there now. The former owner put them on there and it is hideous.

I plan on taking her off road in the future. the reason I said no time soon is because I am wanting to get married and I am paying for college so my money is gettin tied up in other more important ventures. The tires were going to be given to me by a buddy. A lift will come later.

I fu want to go off road, and need the flex, i wouldn't go any bigger then 31", if slight fex is needed, then 32" will work. But if u want show, and almost no flex, then u can stuff 33" in there, like I did. 33X12.5 R15 Super Swampers, but I'm not planning to go off road unless I have to. Right now, it's mostly style, till I get my 6" lift
