Dimmer switch- lever or floor?

My 72 has the button on the floor, and my moms 92 explorer has the lever on the steering column, and i miss my floor button when I drive it. Which is your preferance to turn on your bright lights/high beams?

Dimmer switch- lever or floor?

All my vehicles have floor mounted switches..but I did like having the column mounted switch in my '86 Mustang. The column mounted switch is a little easier to access I think, especially in dark.

A button on the floor? Huh? WOW!!! Now I get it -- so that's what the metal button on the dump truck's floor does... wow, that's cool!

Watch out, that metal button on the floor could be the starter also...

I like the turn signal dimmer switch, I never liked the floor buttons.

I heard they were going to start putting the dimmer switch back on the floor because some older blondes were having a hard time with getting their feet up to the steering column to dim the lights.

Floor dimmers are obsolete. Column dimmers are much easier to find and use.

There are darn few features about the old cars and trucks that I like, but give me that floor button any day! Even with a stick shift, it still gives my left foot something to do.

Course am the old codger here, but I love the old floor dimmers, like that is on my 79 Ford. The foot dimmer is what I grew up with on the 60'-70's cars and trucks. In my opinion, the steering turn /signal/ dimmer switch , has two setbacks. It makes the driver have to take their left hand off the wheel, at the worse time, that being just as a car is passing you head on, and if your a lefty, hmmm) and, ALL of the electro-mechanical devices turn, dimmer, cruise, are all gommmed up in that one itty bitty, controller, and that is ASKING for service problems.,
