That offset is what spins the lifter to avoid wear.

The cam lobes are offset and also the bottom of the lifter is convex. The reason for this is to promote lubrication and even wear between the lifter and lobe. The lifter picks up oil on the bottom of it. As the lobe turns with the camshaft it makes the lifter turn so the contact point is always changing. If the lifter was squared up with the lobe it would wear a groove in the bottom of the lifter. This, in turn, would create wear and valve timing issues.

I suppose I should ask to make sure you don't have roller lifters, do you? You can not interchange mechanical and roller lifters on the same cam shaft.

I dont belive they are roller lifters and I didn't order any of the parts they were all order from the machine shop that did my block prep work, so I would assume they are all the right things and they look like they would work
