exhaust decision
hi...i have a '95 f-150 4x4 xlt with a 351/5.8. i am planning on getting a new exhaust system on it, ya know make it louder
anywho...i was thinkin about getting duals with no cats and 20 or 22" glasspacks. does anyone know how this would sound? or what does everyone else prefer? (id like flowmaster, but kinda spendy...y cant they be cheaper )

not to discourage, but why go deafining loud like that? thats typical symbol of a good ol'red neck in POS Chevy IMO, but from the Chevys I have seen with glass packs, they get crackly sounding at higher RPMs, sound kind of sickly, maybe try for the more mean, deep, powerful rumble of low pitch deep sound that people can feel from yards away, ya know, show fords true power sound... thats what get my attention, not the noise of a nearly dead Chevy... again, IMO w/ a grain of salt

well that aint really deafening loud..u want loud my friend has a '94 f150 with a 5.0 and 17" glasspacks (duals no cats), now thats loud. well i like the deep rumble too but i also like it loud, and i want flowmaster 40 or 50 series, but there outta my price range by the time i get thru with all new pipe etc. o and by the way what i have now for an exhaust is one cat going into a 40" glasspack, with duals out the pack, o and i didnt put it on the guy i bought it from did.

I agree with f100guy. I installed glasspack on my stock 351 and was expecting something a lot louder to say the least and I ran dual no cat., probably has something to do with the exhaust port being so small/ small stock cam. turbos will tone it down and you as mentioned by f100guy you cant beat the price on either. Good luck
