I have an 82 f150 that the doors rattle, or more like a free play causing thumping noise when on anything less than a smooth road. How do you adjust the stricker or latch mechanism?

There should be a plastic piece around the striker pins to prevent rattling. If that is gone, you will need new pins. They aren't too expensive in junkyards.
