275/70 R18 without a leveling kit?
Does anyone have a 275/70 R18 tire without any front suspension changes? I have 275/65 now and these new tires will be about 1" larger. Seems like all the posts I found were asking about the tire with a 2"+ leveling kit. The Tire shop wasn't sure they'd fit on a stock suspension

I asked because the guys at 4 wheel parts or whatever said the 275/70R18 MAY rub the crash bars w/o a lift.... Then they saw I didn't have any....

Here they are...The tires themselves don't rub on the truck at all. But the front did hit the back of my WeatherTech flaps at full turn. The shop pointed that out to me and gave me the option of going with the OEM size, but I stayed with the 275/70 R18. Absolutely love the look. Of course, the tech did a full turn of the wheel as he was pulling it out of the shop and tore one of the flaps completely off the truck. No damage to the truck, so no foul. Both front flaps are now in my garage awaiting final decision (toss or trim).
The tires are just about 1" larger in diameter "on paper", but the tape measure is only showing a 1/4" gain. I've only driven on main streets thus far and no faster than 45mph, but the tires handle great, no more road noise (different, but not louder) that the stock tires. My GPS app isn't showing a significant difference in speed, but tracked a 5% difference in miles driven (again, a very short trip). I'll do a road trip in the next week or two and get a better sample size.
Side Note: I'd bumped my OEMs up to 45psi for grins last weekend and immediately noticed a significant improvement in ride quality. I think the crappy four-ply factory tires contribute to the less than satisfactory ride many of us complain about with the FX4 package. These new 7 ply (I think it's 7) Load E tires at 35psi feels the same as the OEM at 45psi.
Okay, enough babble...here are the "befores" and "afters"
