Doing a 460 swap that I'm taking out of a 79 van. It's got a 3 speed c6 2wd. Engine and transmission are going into my 1991 f250 that had a 302 with e4od transmission 4wd...any one know if my borg warner 1356 will match up to the c6 transmission?

That transmission will not match up to any transfer case.

I am not sure if a 4x4 model C6 would match to that case.

specifically the 3 speed c6 or any c6?

saw a post of a guy who swapped a 2wd c6 to a 4wd c6 by changing the tail section and the output shaft but he wasn't specific on which transfer case or which c6 he had

 

C6 is 3 speed only.

Change of tail shaft housing and output shaft requires a full teardown and rebuild.

The 460s became externally balanced in '79 (from what the internet tells me). If the engine was installed before that you might need different parts to get it to match up to the transmission. Know I have to with my 460 and a Zf5.
