2nd Filter on the IDI

Purshased a CAT 1R-0750 filter and NAPA 4770 bracket to do more filtration prior sending to the new Pump and injectors. The CAT 1R-0750 filter act as a stand alone fuel filter only not like the OEM unit water/fuel separator.

What is the best orientation of this set up for best filtration?, should i go thru the CAT 1R-0750 then to the factory fuel water separator or the other way around.

Looks like that's a 2 micron filter. You'll want to put plumb that after the factory 10 micron filter, or put something in the 10 micron range before it to catch the rocks.

Definitely interested in this. Could you possibly take pics of mounting and hose routing?

you can buy a 2 or 4 micron filter that fits factory filter head,,,you should find two 100 micron filters to catch the plastic from shower heads in the tanks, the plastic from them is the leading cause of tank switch failure and lift pump malfunctions, as the valves in the pump don't play well with plastic, in line filters should go before tank switch.

what is a good solid factory replacement, I have spare FRAM Fuel/water filter that am not really sure if i want to use it yet, I was leaning more towards Fleetguard.

how do you plan to plumb from the second filter to the back of the IP. I thought it was a hard line that runs from the stock filter head to the IP.

Thanks to Justin at R&D IDI performance, DB2 Ip Inlet fitting will allow you to run a regular rubber hose from the secondary filter to the IP and ditch the hard line Like a BOSS

DB2 injection pump inlet fittings

Coming from the main filter to the Cat will be regular 90 degree fitted barb and so on, Or at least that is the plan and you know how that usually turns out
