Shop floor coatings?????

I am currently setting up my new shop in my new house. Extra large garage!!!

Of course the laundry area is within the work area.

three bedrooms above the garage, and a short four stairs from the kitchen to the garage area.

I am not to keen on leaving the concrete uncoated.

What have your expereinces been with the newer floor coatings?
Thanks

Shop floor coatings?????

My dad used the Rustoleum Epoxy Sheild. Looks real nice, but since our floor was pitting already, it flakes off especially when I spill motor or gear oil. That may be because the uneveness may let the oil get underneath. I think on a new floor It would work much better than it did on ours.

I wish I hadn't coated my floor. If it is going to be hosed down it takes forever for it to dry. Especially if there are any low spots.
The coating tends to wear off and looks pretty bad if it gets a lot of hard use. Just my two cents worth.

Shop floor coatings?????

We just spoke about this a few days ago in another forum, and most of us agree that a bare polished floor is the best. Even after years of hard abuse they look better then one that has the epoxy or paint peeling.

hey guys I used Benjamin Moore "elastomeric" it flexes with the floor setttling and cracking. I also used a product called "skid tex" all the way around where the vehicles will sit (not under vehicle so any oil can be hosed of)
