7.3 Transplant into smaller truck?

I haven't seen much about transplants so I am thinking about putting my spare 7.3 motor and trans into a smaller truck like a f150 or ranger. Anyone ever do this? I have seen 350's shoe horned into smaller cars but never heard of anything like this. I have seen a few on youtube but nothing in depth. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

yup, there are quite a few diesel broncos and 60's-70's trucks here. most of the guys use 7.3 IDI's though for their lack of computer.

Keep in mind that it becomes more than just an engine swap...as front suspension needs a complete overhaul too!

Like they have said, 7.3s into a Bronco. Saw one at JBGs Broncorama and got to talk to the guy. Said he bout it from a group of Ford engineers that did the swap in his and several other trucks. Claims that it is a direct drop in. So if that's true then a 150 wouldn't be too difficult. I know back in my hometown there is a 90s ranger driving around with a 95' 7.3 in it.

so, why would you want to put one in a f150? It is the same sized truck with a lighter suspension, so I don't really see the gain there. Broncos, Rangers and other different kinds of truck is cool though.
Search around as there are some here. Broncos specifically. As mentioned, just be wary that the 7.3 is a 1000 pound monster that can wreck havoc on lighter weight suspensions

Fixed.... Suspension can be swapped out. The half-ton frame is another story.
