Sound like you found a nice 4.30 equipped V-10 wagon, just about the most perfect family tow rig there is!
Time to show it off here with a bunch of pictures.

Congrats! Sounds like you got a really good deal on that truck.

Replacing the bearings is easy. It's cost of $186 each that's the hard part. And that's if you don't end up having to replace a stub shaft or two and the seals that go with it.

You should also consider an adjustable Hellwig sway bar for the rear. I tow an 8500# RV and I'm very happy with the way my truck handles the load (with a good WD hitch and brake controller of course).

I will get some pics up soon. I think I need to crawl under it to take a look at the tag on the pumpkin to be sure of the ratio- there is no axle code on the door frame build tag. Thanks a lot, Ford.

Howdy Michael, congrats on the new to you truck!

It sounds like you've found a rare V10 gem with 4.30 gears!

Apocalypse truck came from Texas and I was the one that picked it up for him and kept it until the transport could come and get it. A V10 with 4.30 gears is an absolute beast!

Enjoy!

Yes they are rare but I lucked out and not even knowing it to find our V10 last year in California with 4.30 gears for $4000.

Keeping that beast forever
