Hello all I'm new and this is my first post. So let's get to it, I have a 2003 F250 XLT Crew Cab Super Duty 8 Ft bed 4x4. It has 112,124 miles on it. this morning i was driving down the road and the truck just shut off, no loss of power just the engine cut off and the engine light came on tried hitting the pedal and it wouldn't go anywhere while it was running. should have wrote that first?? well anyway back to the story... So, i pulled over and stopped. then started it back up and i got it home. scanned it and no codes! this is the second time it has done this... nothing pending, and i maintain the **** out this truck. it's like my kid... well i don't know what's going on? it has to be electrical, fuel filter is new and i flushed the fuel system out at every oil change, replaced all the coils and plugs... my maintenance schedule is every 3,000 miles everything gets changed out. i could use some help here if this has happened to anyone please help me out...

 

If it doesn't lose electrical power then check the fuel pressure.

 

i will do that but it starts right back u and runs like it supposed to. so i do think it's fuel i think it's something else

 

My '02 F250 did that once with me, turned out Ford had a recall notice on the cam sensor. They replaced for free and she ran just fine from then on.

 

so you think that it is a cam sensor?

 

It could be, same symptoms as mine, could be something totally different but it's a start. Ask your local Ford dealer if the recall is still active.
