Hey guys!
I have a 1997 Eddie Bauer Expedition 2x4 5.4 that has become temperamental in the mornings. Especially when it is cold out. It starts fine but won't idle. Sometimes if I blip the throttle it clears up, but not always. Sometimes it takes quite a while to clear. Once it does, it's fine for the rest of the day it seems. Any ideas which sensor is freaking out?

 

There are lots of possibilities. Have you tried hooking up a scan tool yet to read what the sensors are doing?

 

I would look at the Idle Air Control Valve, or IAC. Plenty of old threads on this item.
