The Grey truck (my new one) MSRP was 1K more then the white. Although $500 of that was nerf bars, which I had after market put on the white. They are going to swap the after market to this grey truck and are giving me a decent Ford credit which will cover plenty of maintenance for a good long while.

I thought this was routine as well and didn't even question it.

When I went in yesterday, one of the salesman showed me the new vin verification paperwork every salesman has to fill out now or they don't get paid. I just assumed this would have been protocol by default.

I have bought 7 new cars for either my wife or myself over the years and they have always checked the vin. I just assumed this time they had done it while they inspected it, my bad I guess.

I can't imagine the state would take well to one vin being titled while another one is the actual truck being sold.

Same exact thing happened to me. I signed papers on a truck that actually cost $3000 less than the one that I was driving around for a week. The way we figured it out was the second key they gave me didn't work, and the door code didn't work. Luckily I caught it soon enough that they were able to redo paperwork for the right truck and they didn't charge me more seeings how the truck I was in actually cost more than the one I signed papers and negotiated for, on top of that they cut me a check for $750 for inconvience.
